How to date a brown girl, black girl white girl, or halfie
This story was filled with stereotypes of girls. The boy that was telling the story seemed to think he knew everything about girls and how they work on dates and boys. This story made me wonder if guys always think this way or if every guy has stereotypes like this and expectations for dates. This boy thinks that he knows how every girl is going to act simply off her race or background of her life.
Battle Royal
This poem was very sad and gruesome. The reader got an insight to what the men go through simply to gain respect. The men never questioned what they were told, they always did exactly as they were told so that they would not get in trouble. Everything they did was for money that wasn't even real. This made me wonder why, or what could possibly cause them to want to do these things.
No Name Woman
This story was very very interesting to me. It focused on the Chinese culture and how women are restricted to so many things. Women have very little rights I feel and have to do so many things to be respected and not looken down on. This story narrows down on a woman who was impregnated after her husband left for another country. The woman was terrorized for this and in the end decided to kill her baby, not for this reason, but for the reason that the baby would not have a name. It made me feel so bad for the woman who simply made a mistake and ended up having to take her babies life for something like that.
America
It was interesting reading how one person viewed America. There are so many different views and concepts of America that it is always interesting to see how people view it. This poem shows that the author feels strongly for America and views it as a great country. The author seems to think that America has great potential for doing such great things in the future. This poem shoes the beliefs that some people still have in our country, and that our country is a strong one and is capable of many great things.
If We Must Die
This poem was very strong and filled with determination. These people know that they are going to die eventually and see no better way of dying than fighting for their own country in the process. Fighting for their country that they feel so strongly for and take pride in.

I completely agree with you analysis of No Name Woman. The Chinese culture is just so different from ours that it is hard to understand why someone would do this. Of course in the United States we feel shame over situations, but our friends and family will generally support us when mistakes are made. I had to strongly sympathize with the woman because a birth is normally a joyous thing, and her culture turned it into a horrible situation.
